InsideHer

Who we are

InsideHer is run by Insideher (Pty) Ltd. This policy covers the InsideHer app and insideher.health. For anything about your data, email hello@insideher.health.

What your account stores

Your email and, if you add them, your name and profile details. The health entries you choose to log: symptoms, cycle, pain, mood, sleep, conditions, medications, screening answers, visit prep, notes and plans. Photos you add to a skin log, a region or city you type to find local care, and messages you send to a clinician you choose. Your subscription status. These sync to your encrypted account so you can use them on any device.

What is collected automatically

Which screens and features are used, so we can improve the app; crash reports and performance data through Sentry, with your email and IP address removed; and a push notification token if you turn notifications on. We don't use your precise location, contacts or audio recordings, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

How data is used

We use this information to personalise support, save your progress, generate summaries you choose to use, improve safety wording, and respond to support requests.

Companion questions

The Companion only answers questions after you agree to it. When you ask the Companion something, your question and facts worked out from your recent logs (never your free-text notes) are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, to write the answer, using only InsideHer's reviewed health information, not the internet. They don't use it to train their models, and keep it for up to 30 days only to check for abuse. InsideHer keeps a record that a question was asked and whether it was stopped for safety, never what you asked or the answer. Questions about fertility, pregnancy or loss are never sent, and your fertility, pregnancy and loss vault stays on your phone.

Voice input

Voice is optional and only starts when you tap the mic. Your phone turns what you say into text. When it can do that by itself, nothing leaves your phone. When it can't, the app asks you first, and if you agree, your speech is sent to Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android) to be turned into text, under their privacy policy. InsideHer never receives or keeps the recording. The text is only saved if you choose to save it as a log. You can turn the cloud option off in the Companion at any time, and it's cleared when you sign out or delete your account. When the Companion reads a reply aloud, your phone's built-in voice does it.

Services we use

Supabase hosts your account and data. OpenAI writes Companion answers. RevenueCat, Apple and Google handle subscriptions and payments. Sentry receives crash reports. Apple and Google deliver notifications and, only if you agree, turn speech into text. They process data only to provide their service to InsideHer. Some of them are based outside your country, including in the United States.

What we do not do

We never sell your data, never use it for ads, and never train AI on your reproductive data. We do not share identifiable health entries with employers, partners, or clinicians unless you choose to.

Your rights and choices

You can see and change your entries in the app, download a copy of your data from Profile, and delete your account at any time. You can also email us to access, correct or delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under GDPR, UK GDPR or POPIA, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, from Profile or the account deletion page, your account and health data are deleted. Some records may need to be kept for legal, fraud-prevention, order or tax reasons when purchases or support cases exist.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can lock the app with Face ID or your fingerprint. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Age

InsideHer is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has used it, email us and we'll delete their data.

Medical disclaimer

This is an informational support app. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Always use a qualified clinician for medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, and urgent care decisions.

Emergency support

This is not an emergency service. If you think you may be in danger or need urgent care, contact your local emergency services or seek urgent in-person medical care immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and tell you in the app before the change applies. Last updated 22 October 2026.
